This is the "hackers" list, and it's intended for discussion of
developers of the PostgreSQL database itself.
I'd suggest asking your question on the "general" mailing list.
You might also want to read the online manuals to see if they cover your
questions, since I'm not familiar with the terms you're using.
- Database independence
In particular, this one makes no sense to me.
