Hello, has anybody heard anything on the subject of using PG as backend
for LDAP ? *Any* pointers are appreciated.

While we're at it, anything on the *reverse* question? That is, using LDAP
as the user/password and authentication agent for Postgres? Could be
*extremely* useful in our university, where all our students have LDAP
entries, which we use in web access control, and email access. It would be
great if we could grant permissions to LDAP groups.

I saw something about a LDAP/PAM module.
Supporting PAM-auth in pgsql would give us LDAP and much more.

PAM is rather evil. The fact that one has to add 'support' for it should
be enough of an indicator.
