- Any idea when it will get to beta test status?

- Is it currently stable enough to make a real-world test worthwhile?

- Would this be the snapshot you mentioned?:

Based on the discussions I have seen, the first beta will probably be released
within a week.

- Is it currently stable enough to make a real-world test worthwhile?

CVS pulls are usually in a state suitable for testing.
