yes it was released but

I think he meant RPMS for Fedora x64 and there's no RPMS on the
mirrors

8.1.1 RPMs for FC3-x86_64 and FC4-x86_64 have been uploaded 4 days
before; however it seems that we have a problem with syncing. We are
fixing it; they should be visible there shortly.

Version 8.1.1 looks pretty released to me...

It's listed as the official "latest release" on <http://www.postgresql.org/&gt;
