LAPUG Social - Tuesday Evening July 14
Josh Berkus and David Fetter will be in West Los Angeles area the
beginning of next week. This would be a good opportunity to get
together to enjoy dinner and drinks with PostgreSQL's community
leaders.
Please reply to the LAPUG mailing list if you would like to attend.

Depending on the details, I'd love to attend. Any more specifics, by chance?

Engine Company 28 is a nice restaurant that was recommended to me by a
fellow coworker. It is located in Downtown Los Angeles in a historic
building formerly used as a fire station.
Additional information is available at: http://www.engineco.com/
Directions are found here: http://www.engineco.com/location.html
While parking is available, it might be easier to use valet parking.
We should plan to meet 7:00 pm.
So far I have six people in total planning to attend.

Ride for us? We're at the Embassy Suites on Imperial across the highway
from LAX.

New to this list, but I live and work across the street from Engine Co.
But figure +2 people who are interested?

On making the reservation, I had to reschedule it for 7:45 rather than
7:00 pm. I hope this doesn't create an inconvenience for anyone.
The following is the reservation information:

# Diner Name: Richard Broersma

Did someone reply and provide a way of getting here?
I don't think you want me driving (my car is not happy with me right
now), but I'm more then willing to pay or pitch in for a
car/cab/gas/whatever?

Regarding the directions to the hotel where Josh and Dave are staying,
I can provide the information that Josh set to me.

So far, I was planning on using my wife's car since it can seat up to
4 people (1980 Volvo 240DL). However, if anyone else would like to
offer a (more comfortable) ride for Josh and David, I'm sure that they
would appreciate it. ;)

My car would probably break down half-way to the restaurant just to say
"See, should have taken me in when the warning light showed up", so not
the best first impression I'd wanna make ;)
I can offer financial help though if needed, or to thank you for sparing
my car; gas for the car, alcohol for the passengers, etc :)

All,
FYI, David and I will be spending some time to talk about changes in
PostgreSQL development process for 8.5. So there is content for the
evening and not just drinks.

I'm currently on a contract job just down the street @ the AON
building. Count me in. I'd love to give Josh & Co. a ride from
Imperial however I can't guarantee that just yet. If you guys are
still looking for a ride by wednesday evening (when is this again?)
let me know off-list!
