Leading up to the release of PostgreSQL 8.0, the development group has
agreed to freeze the message strings, so now is the right time to send
in message translations for the 8.0 release. See

http://developer.postgresql.org/~petere/nlsinfo/

for information on how to contribute.

If there are already translations in your language, it would make sense
to contact the previous translator before starting on your own.

If there are no previous translations in your language, you will
probably not be able to finish all of them in time for the release.
But partial translations will be accepted, and updated translations
will be considered for subsequent minor releases.

I also want to point out the translation effort of the JDBC driver at

http://jdbc.postgresql.org/development/translation.html

The JDBC driver team is also preparing for a release and would surely
welcome your contribution.
