Looking for a good first patch to author
Hi hackers,
I've been getting familiar with the codebase by reviewing a couple of
patches (6681, 7256) and I'd like to try authoring a small patch of my own.
Could anyone suggest a small, self-contained area — ideally in psql,
pg_dump, or similar — that would suit a first-time contributor?
Thanks,
Shubhra

As one of the options among many, feel free to look at
https://commitfest.postgresql.org/patch/7362/
As the author I'm ready to answer all the questions that can arise in the
process.

Awesome!

I don't have any good ideas for pg_dump hacking but there was recently a
suggestion for pg_upgrade which I think would be suitable as a first-time
patch. The relevant thread is here:

Sorry I've misread you and didn't realized you already chosen patches
for review. You can ignore my previous message.

Thanks both - really appreciate the suggestions. I'll take a look at both
7362 and the pg_upgrade thread and follow up on whichever one I start with.
