Hello!

I saaw your patch for 7.0.2, but it is hard to port to 7.1.2 for me,
because I haven't got any knowlendge in postgresql programming.
Can you give me a nocreatetable patch for postgres 7.1.2?

I'd like, but I unsure with my time -- may be later (3 weeks?).

Will be the new permission system in 7.2?

Probably not :-(

PS. ...may be someone in hackers list port it to 7.1 (see CC)

Re: nocreatetable for 7.1.2 [patch]

Hello!

I continued to port your patch, and now it works, only one error,
if I create ANY table in ANY database:
NOTICE: Cache reference leak: cache pg_shadow (24), tuple 17201 has
count 1

But everything work nice (the nocreatetable thing also :))) ).
Oh, and the help isn't fixed to show nocreatetable and nolocktable for
\h create user.

So I attach my patch.

PS. This solution isn't acceptable for standard and official sources.
Probably is better no send this patch to pgsql-patches@postgresql.org,
somebody could be foggy from it.

Re: Re: nocreatetable for 7.1.2 [patch]

Were are we on this? We keep talking about NOCREATETABLE permission for
every release but can't seem to get it in there because people want a
redesign of permissions. My feeling is that it should be added to 7.2.

I know very well it:-) It was 1day in official CVS, but we remove it
after discussion with Peter and me. The result was that we need new
privilege system that handle it. If good remember Peter has some
(IMHO good) proposal about it (and Jan has an own proposal
about it too).

PS. L. Ellison has still better GRANT/REVOKE stuff than PG:-(

Re: [PATCHES] Re: nocreatetable for 7.1.2 [patch]

Can I assume we will have schemas in 7.3 and will not need this patch?
