ODBC connection problems

I'm trying to connect to my database trough Interdev 6.0 Using the OBDC
driver dowloaded from
ftp://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/odbc/psqlodbc_download.html
but seem unable to do so.
I'm receiving a couldn't connect to server, can't conect to remote
socket,this driver dosn't support the version
of ODBC behavior that the application .......
The database resides on a linux box.
How do I fix this...
