Request for INSTALL help

Make sure you have a linker installed (binutils package). If that doesn't
help, specify a system type manually, using --host=i386-pc-linux and
complain loudly to config-patches@gnu.org. Actually, they talked about
fixing this just yesterday, so maybe they could use some data points.
