I installed PostgeSQL on Windows 2000 like KevinLo disscipted in his
installation procedure.
The installation finished with no error.
When I do 'postmaster -i&' I get this message:
C:\cygwin\usr\local\pgsql\bin\postgres.exe: ***
recreate_mmaps_after_fork_failed
Startup failed - abort
NOTICE: IpcMemoryDetach: shmdt<0x0x7190000>: Invalid argument
NOTICE: IpcMemoryDetach: shmdt<0x0x7060000>: Invalid argument
NOTICE: IpcMemoryDetach: shmdt<0x0x7050000>: Invalid argument

What can I do??

best regards,
Rolf Brockmann

Re: Error by starting postmaster

I got a message much like that on NT 4, after I upgraded to Cygwin
1.1.8. Reinstalling the Cygwin 1.1.7 package fixed the problem for me.
