User Input - Multiple Parameters

Hi

Can anyone help me. I'm looking for a way to input multiple parameters to
psql using prompts prior to running the SQL.

I could run from cammand line using a cascading script file (ie a script
file that calls other script files) but I'm looking for a more elegent
method, preferablly from within psql.
