who uses the geometric operators and functions ?

Could you indicate to me the possible uses of the operators
and the geometrical functions ? Why the operator * or / are operators
complex ? Do you have examples as for their use ? thank you in advance
for your help.

The operators allow full translation, rotation, and scaling to be
performed on geometric objects. Someone might have some examples or
tutorials to send, or you might want to drag out an old geometry text
book...
