Hi,

I mentioned, that someone dropped CPU-load from 15% to 1% when porting from
MySQL to PostgreSQL. I just found the link in the archive. Here are 2 links
to the discussion:
http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-general/2002-08/msg00805.php
http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-general/2002-08/msg00819.php

They are really worth reading.

Is it possible to put them somewhere visible on www.postgresql.org?

Tommi

I think they could be placed on Case Studies section on
advocacy.postgresql.org. We could get a writeup from the author perhaps..

IIRC several folks contacted the author about doing a writeup but there
were some circumstances that prevented him from doing one. If things
have changed we'd be happy to write this up, it really is a good read.
