Please let me introduce myself. I'm Rada Hussein from Egypt and I'm
doing my Ph.D. in Medical Informatics in Germany. We are using Postgres
in our database applications. I'm working specifically in Arabization.
So, I'd be grateful if you could tell me if Postgres supports the Arabic
encoding (8859-6)or not?. If not, how can I add it? or do you recommend
to use Unicode instead? Or it will take huge data storage?

PostgreSQL 7.2 (in beta phase now) will support ISO 8859-6.
You could get it from, for example,
ftp://ftp2.us.postgresql.org/pub/beta.
